Govtoday and Securing the Future are delighted to be hosting the 5th Annual National Carbon Reduction Summit, ‘Investing in a low carbon society’, which will be held on Thursday 21st November at the Brewery, The City of London.
Carbon Reduction is the flagship conference hosted as part of the Securing the Future series of events, and has examined the Government’s efforts to tackle the threats posed by Climate Change, and how Government policy and the Climate Change Act have driven the UK onto the path towards becoming a low carbon society.
This year’s event will provide analysis of the UK’s progress, taking stock of the first carbon budget 2008-2012, its results and failings, the Government’s Carbon Plan published December 2011, and whether we can achieve the massive cultural shift required to reduce carbon by 80 per cent by 2050.
“This Government is proving that helping to tackle climate change, and diversify supply, doesn’t have to cost the earth. In fact it creates green growth and green jobs.” The Rt Hon Ed Davey MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change
